You may have noticed that I’ve finally gotten Inteltainment.org to work as my domain name. WordPress’s documentation was way over the head of a tech doofus like me, but ChatGPT finally saved the day when I asked it what to do. Although ToughAsNails.net still drives here, I would much appreciate if you change your bookmarks! (For those who still use bookmarks, anyway.)

This one might play a bit easier than usual. I originally made it thinking to submit it to LAT, but decided against it (not sure why, maybe because I was at my quota of three unanswered submissions already).

The seed for this puzzle was inspired by a dog I know named Chewy who decided to stick his nose in my purse looking for treats even though I said I didn’t have any. Chewy’s owner responded with the seed entry to the puzzle, which made me laugh. Hope you enjoy!
Totally unrelated to this puzzle, but it’s pretty delightful how deeply people in my neighborhood get into spooky season decorations. Hope you’re enjoying your October and that you enjoy this puzzle!
I made yesterday’s New York Times puzzle! It’s been nearly two years since my last time, and as I put it in my constructor’s note for Wordplay, I consider it harder to get a puzzle published in NYT than it is to get into Harvard nowadays. Hopefully it won’t be another two years before the next time, but I have no accepted puzzles in the hopper there, so it wouldn’t shock me if it is. Anyway, I hope you liked yesterday’s easy puzzle; now here’s something harder!
Sometimes the seed for a puzzle is a bane of my existence. That’s the case today.
I made this one a while ago, but wanted to put some space between it and another themeless so you all don’t think this is suddenly a [SUBJECT MATTER REDACTED] puzzle blog.
This one might not be as hard as usual — I made it, thought the grid was clean enough for NYT, submitted, and got noped. I think it’s a good puzzle, but of course NYT has a lot to choose from these days. Oh well!
You may be able to tell what my seed entry was based on the tone of the clue.
